We are a bunch of moms, dads, teachers, doctors, and community members who are raising concerns over Ed tech and over reliance on screens in schools. A big prerequisite of getting the right policy in place is voting in people who share your values, especially at the local level!
REAL Education PAC is comprised of members who all share the desire of responsibly reducing tech in the classroom, and many, if not most, of our members also find it personally important to donate to candidates or elected officials who share our goals.
Don't think its right to park a kid on a school issued device for hours? Neither do we!
We understand not everyone is able or comfortable donating financially.
We welcome any and all engagement. It takes a village!
At this time, we are not collecting donations like a traditional PAC, but are a coalition of individual advocates whose policy goals are aligned and many of whom are pledging to also take part in political giving.
In short: We write personal checks to candidates and elected officials we believe in. Check back in the future on if or when we decide to make things official and begin a legally defined PAC.
We believe we can be more effective through collective action: the dollars of a group is more meaningful than any one of us, and more meaningful than ed tech money (companies cant even vote!)
